We do not learn from experience ... We learn from reflecting on experience.John Dewey
What a year this has been for ASI | Architectural Systems! A new showroom, record number of new product collections launched, new executive appointments and a new sales alliance was formed!
'Tis the season to reflect, and this blog shares what we learned this past year and the plan to move it forward in 2020!
After 22 years on 25th St., the historic Visual Merchandising block in NYC, ASI relocated uptown to 36th St., right in the heart of the garment district. We are now in an open plan office space on our own floor with a showroom area to ensure the elevated experience you enjoyed in our previous space, and we encourage you to meet with us here in the newly named ASI LAB at the inception of your projects!
It's great to be in a new working environment. The A&D community can still view the materials installed in real life applications, get inspired and discuss all creative and technical challenges. So far, everyone likes collaborating in the ASI LAB!
The decision to pass the torch was one Ron Jackson and myself, Nancy Jackson, Founders and Principals for 30 years, knew was timely!
Andrew Cooper, formerly our SVP of National Accounts, has been promoted to President of the company. Andrew has been with us for 16 years, and we are confident he will have much success in this strategic position.
I am now loving my new role as Chief Creative Officer!
Rachel Cooper has been appointed Managing Director from SVP of Sales (Inside joke: 1st round of proofs for our new business cards had her as the Managing Dictator!)
Michael O'Connor has been developed into Chief Operating Officer, and Gabrielle O'Connor will continue as VP and Materialista® which now includes overseeing all social media initiatives.
Ron Jackson will remain Chief Executive Officer, and that is our new management team at ASI | Architectural Systems!
Transitions aren't easy, and you have to be mindful to stay in your own lane! Thankfully, we are committed to supporting each other and working together seamlessly.
Since 1990, ASI has been dedicated to introducing award winning materials that transcend trends and meet project criteria for all commercial market segments! We have stayed consistent with our point of view on the Power of Materials®, and this 2019-2020 taxonomy of finishes showcased above allows you to realize your design vision.
Materials will always define a sense of place, translate a brand, evoke a mood and create memorable spaces. ASI welcomes the opportunity to be a strategic material partner to develop and customize signature and iconic finishes, and that has not changed!
As many of you know, we recently formed an alliance with Spartan Surfaces. The synergy has been extremely positive, and we plan on keeping the momentum forward, supporting their all-star sales team with the best in class marketing collateral, curated and edited sample boxes, digital and print catalogs, product brochures, material presentations to give you the ideas you want when designing for any segment in the industry.
Onboard a salesforce in all the local markets with a proven brand of innovative and distinctive interior finishes for Wall Surfaces and Flooring, a win-win happens for the architects and designers!
What have you learned this past year? Please share your reflections. We would love to know.
